About Jonathan Van Ee |
|
The rich, bright,
primary colors in these pieces can lift the viewer's mood. In fact,
there's an entire field of alternative healing called "chromotherapy"
that uses color for therapeutic purposes.
Jonathan Van Ee's colorful art reflects his background
growing up in Merida, Mexico. He is not involved in the alternative
healing aspects of color, but believes color can improve people's lives.
While Mr. Van Ee has his own style, he also has connections
with established artists. He did a takeoff on Thomas Kinkade's work,
which can be seen at Colored Kinkade. Mr. Kinkade himself signed the
backside of the original drawing of this piece.
Jonathan shares a surprising number of cultural similarities
with Vincent Van Gogh. Like Vincent, he is the oldest son of a Dutch
preacher. Some of Jonathan's drawings share characteristics of Van
Gogh's work, such as skies in Christmas Tree and Colored Kinkade.
The art on these web pages is the product of several hours of
painstaking hand drawing with colored pencils on paper.
